SOMERSET, Pa. (WTAJ) – The Somerset County Commissioners will hold a countywide public meeting to review a broadband strategy project.
On Dec. 5, at 6:30 p.m., the commissioners will hold a hybrid format public meeting to discuss the Connect Somerset County Broadband strategy, project status and hear public feedback on how internet service impacts residents and business owners.
The meeting will also allow attendees to learn about broadband internet through presentations about the project led by county commissioners and their consultant, Michael Baker International, as well as learn about how internet connections impact other residents, businesses and local organizations. Residents will have an opportunity to share their internet experiences in the county.
Those interested in attending can join in-person at the Somerset County Library, or online via Microsoft Teams or by calling-in at 412-634-6334. The phone conference ID is 897 036 612#.
All residents and business owners are encouraged to attend and take a short survey available online that supports the study and assessment of county internet needs. The survey deadline is Dec. 15.
The official Connect Somerset County final report and proposed next steps for broadband expansion will be available to the public after the study concludes in 2024. For questions about the survey, or to request a printed copy, call 724-495-4304 or email feedback@connectsomersetcounty.com.
